Sepang Aircraft Engineering Selected As Airframe MRO, FSR And Material Support Services Supplier To Maintain Incoming Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) A400m Fleet
Airbus Defence Space has agreed terms and conditions with the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) on a wide scope of In-Service Support (ISS) work packages to maintain its incoming A400M fleet of four aircraft, with the first one already delivered in March 2015. The contract with RMAF proposes a performance based support consisting in spare availability services and on-site technical and maintenance support.
In such a framework, Airbus DS has successfully signed an In-Service Support (ISS) contract with Sepang Aircraft Engineering (SAE), a local Malaysian company, part of Airbus Group with 40% shares.
Located in Kuala Lumpur International Airport but providing the services in RMAF’s main operating base for the intent of this challenge, SAE will perform Material Support services (warehouse management and operation), technical support services and unscheduled On-Aircraft maintenance activities.
With a contract value of nearly five million US dollars and four years duration, the project and negotiation have required more than a year to be completed and involved many teams within Airbus DS, including A400M Programme office, Material Services, Procurement, Information Management, Engineering and MRO
